Petunia

A genus of solanaceous herbs with funnelform or salver-shaped corollas. Two species are common in cultivation, Petunia violacera , with reddish purple flowers, and Petunia nyctaginiflora , with white flowers. There are also many hybrid forms with variegated corollas.
